The Water Tap Foundation is an international charity whose mission is to provide clean drinking water to impoverished regions of the world. The Foundation was established by Dr Nelda Frater with a vision to stop children dying of preventable, water- borne diseases such as cholera. The charity was registered at Companies House in June 2010 and as a Registered charity in October 2011.
The ProblemLarge areas of the world do not have access to clean drinking water, which is something that most of us take for granted. About 40 billion hours per year are lost in Africa alone carrying water. Water-borne diseases such as diarrhoea, parasites and dysentery kill thousands every day. These diseases kill 1 in 4 children under the age of 5.
