This year the charity’s fundraising event was a gospel concert held on 29th June 2019 at the prestigious Wigmore Hall, Central London featuring the well known, and renowned Singology Gospel Choir. This was one of the hottest days of the year but the heat did not distract from the anticipation of hearing 30 to 40 voices singing with energy, magnitude, and melodious harmony.
Singology gospel choir did not disappoint the audience as they performed a diverse range of gospel songs which included: “The best is yet to come, Wade in the water, I smile, Steal away, My life is in your hands, Giants, Shackles, Total Praise, He reigns and Hosanna”. Some of the arrangements and renditions worthy of praise were ‘Steal Away’ and ‘Total Praise’ which left the audience wanting to hear more.
The choir was conducted by their leader Joanne Headley who masterfully blended their voices and harmonies. In addition, Mark de Lisser the founder and CEO of ‘Singology Gospel Choirs’ sang with the choir and addressed the audience at various points.
During the concert Dr Nelda Frater (chairperson), and Dr Mark Sayers (honorary secretary) provided a short power point presentation to inform the audience about the Foundation’s current work in Malawi, Africa. The presentation included projects which had been completed as a result of previous generous donations, and those projects which required further funds to complete, namely the Enqucwini health clinic project.
At the end of the concert Dr Frater thanked Singology gospel Choir for taking the time to perform in aid of the Foundation, and Wigmore Hall for kindly allowing the Foundation to use such a prestigious venue for fund raising. Lastly, Dr Frater thanked the audience for supporting the event and the Foundation.
